![]() The Boathouse at ArrowHead Pointe An exciting and indispensable element of the ArrowHead Pointe ownership experience, The Boathouse at ArrowHead Pointe represents, perhaps, the last of these most-sought-after lakeside structures ever to be built on Otsego Lake. Last, but suffice to say, certainly not the least! To view construction of The Boathouse Foundation, please click here. To view the second day of setting upper Boathouse logs, please click here. Taking advantage of the steep bank at the southeast corner of the property, the grand two-level boathouse has been designed to neatly and comfortably nestle into the lakeside bank. Inspired by the architectural designs of the residences, The Boathouse is constructed of stone and wood, the most elemental and noble of all building materials. The log structure was handcrafted in British Columbia where the Treehouse Log Home log-smiths hand peeled, cut, shaped and fit large diameter western red cedars (with their sculptural flared bases still intact), along with massive Douglas fir logs, into a mesmerizing structure whose beauty might only be challenged by Otsego Lake itself! Boathouses have long held a certain mysterious allure; perhaps due to their inherent proximity to the water and the eerily soothing sounds of the never-ending lapping of waves or maybe because of their historically darkly colored and dimly lit interiors. The Boathouse at ArrowHead Pointe will undoubtedly draw you in but not into the dark! Instead, the bright, ruggedly handsome design focuses on wide open, naturally lit areas through the combined use of French doorways with transoms and high reaching cathedral volumes topped by a 12' long free-span sky light. With a wall of glass 20 feet wide, soaring some 18 feet high, The Lake Room will welcome you and your guests to enjoy the most spectacular views out across Otsego Lake to Mount Wellington, "The Sleeping Lion Mountain", on the far shore. Open the French doors and step out onto the overhanging balconies and you'll feel like you're floating above the water! Look down into the crystal clear waters of Otsego Lake and spy on trout and bass as they lazily swim past. Take in the unbroken, magnificent, sweeping 180 degree panoramic view extending from the north end of the lake, over Sunken Island and on down beyond 5 Mile Point! Truly an awe-inspiring sight! Be it winter or summer, The Lake Room's floor to cathedral ceiling stone fireplace will add to an unbelievable ambiance for entertaining or for "extreme relaxing" at its most profound and mysterious level! Store your favorite vintages in the temperature controlled wine cellar, and on those perfect moonlit evenings stroll down to The Boathouse and take in the brilliant Milky Way as it lights up the Glimmerglass! And, on rare occasions, catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights! Fully furnished with leather sofas and seating arrangements, wide plank flooring, and beautifully accessorized, The Lake Room, with its own kitchenette, will quickly become your favorite spot. And still there's more to explore in your boathouse. The North Porch and The South Porch afford the same outstanding views with their own fireplaces! Pine planked cathedral roofs, massive log posts and beams, and cedar and birch railings combine to provide outstanding and unmatched lakeside spaces. Down the log spiral stairway, the lower level of The Boathouse features The Lounge; complete with an LCD Movie Projector, Surround Sound and a full walk-behind Birch Bark Bar. This level also contains several areas for convenient lakeside storage. No need to haul your equipment to your home; 8 individual, secure, walk-in lockers provide ample space for your fishing gear, life jackets and paddles or what-have-you. And, if you own a prized kayak, an antique Adirondack guide boat or a family canoe, store it inside in your own dedicated rack space. Should no other boathouse ever be built on Otsego Lake, it would only seem fitting that the last of these great nostalgic structures to be erected, The Boathouse at ArrowHead Pointe, be the most grand and sought after treasure on Otsego Lake! | Return Home | Photo Gallery | The Boathouse | About Cooperstown | Who is AHP? | Contact Us | Great Links | Local Realtors | The Gazebo | New Properties | |
