 The History
Situated on sloping land 7 miles north of Cooperstown, overlooking and fronting on Otsego Lake, the modern day history of this beautiful lakeside property dates back to the 1930's. Spurney's Cottages offered simple accommodations to vacationers on the western shore of the lake. In more recent times, the cottages gave way to Happy Landing and then in the 1980's to Brookfield Cottages. Now, archeological excavations reveal the first people to utilize this land were Native American Indians. Evidence of their visits dates back 2,000 to 3,000 years when they would fish directly from the beach area. Based on the artifacts unearthed on the property, Archeologists speculate a small group of Indians gathered near the edge of the lake and, using materials found on the site, they set about crafting various hunting projectile points and tools. The arrowheads they left behind are in pristine condition and demonstrate an incredible level of craftsmanship. Having hosted thousands of vacationers over the years, the evolution of this historic property continues. In homage to those who first frequented this land, Brookfield now gives way to ArrowHead Pointe. The Future

Once fully created, the structures are disassembled and transported to ArrowHead Pointe and re-erected. The resulting homes are not only extremely impressive and beautiful, but each has its own character, color, texture, feel and aroma. Augmenting the 8 homes is a lakeside boathouse constructed of massive logs; architecturally engineered to complement the residences and the lakeside setting.
